#  Assisting Multi-Unit Buildings with BERDO 2.0 Compliance 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the City of Boston to examine compliance challenges associated with the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO 2.0), with a focus on multi-owner residential buildings.

 ### Project Summary

Students worked with City staff to analyze patterns of non-compliance among multi-unit and condominium buildings subject to BERDO 2.0 requirements. The work focused on understanding decision-making structures, building characteristics, and information gaps affecting compliance.



 

 ### Areas of Focus

The team examined compliance patterns across multi-owner buildings, building typologies and energy systems, communication challenges related to emissions-based regulation, and financial and organizational factors affecting compliance pathways.
