#  Brighton Up the Block: Commercial Development 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the Town of Belmont to examine commercial development opportunities along the Brighton Street corridor in the context of fiscal pressures and community priorities.

Students worked with town staff to analyze resident perspectives on commercial development, benchmark comparable communities, and examine the fiscal role of commercial activity in addressing structural budget challenges.



 

 ### Areas of Focus

The team examined resident survey and focus group findings, comparative commercial development patterns, fiscal characteristics of mixed-use corridors, and alignment between economic sustainability and community values.
