#  The Budget Balancing Act 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the Town of Brookline to examine fiscal pressures related to Proposition 2½ constraints and local budget sustainability.

Students worked with town staff to analyze resident priorities, willingness to pay for public services, and communication approaches related to potential fiscal adjustments.



 

 ### Areas of Focus

The team examined survey results on resident preferences, message testing related to budget tradeoffs, comparative experiences from other municipalities, and fiscal characteristics associated with operating override scenarios.
