#  Community Land Trust and Affordable Housing 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the City of Somerville to examine community land trust models and their application within a local affordable housing context.

Students worked with City staff to analyze community land trust models used across the United States, including governance structures, financing approaches, and mechanisms used to preserve long-term housing affordability.



 

 ### Areas of Focus

The team examined community land trust models and best practices, financial structures associated with land trust development, and considerations relevant to applying these models within Somerville’s housing context.
