# Extreme Heat Impacts on Public Transit Use

The Field Lab partnered with the City of Phoenix to examine how extreme heat affects public transit usage and travel behavior.

 ### Project Partner

City of Phoenix, Arizona
Public Transit Department

 ### Project Partner

Students worked with transit data and climate information to analyze ridership patterns under extreme heat conditions and to update an existing transit propensity model.

 ### Areas of Focus

The team examined relationships between temperature and transit ridership, spatial and temporal ridership variation during extreme heat events, mitigation-related considerations, and updates to transit propensity modeling assumptions.
