#  Making a Home for Everyone Except Rats 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the City of Boston to examine waste containerization strategies as part of the City’s Rodent Action Plan.

 ### Project Summary

Students worked with City staff to analyze resident perspectives on alternative waste collection methods, including neighborhood-based containers and street-residing bins, using survey data, GIS mapping, and message testing.



 

 ### Areas of Focus

The team examined resident attitudes toward waste containerization, spatial patterns related to rodent activity, tradeoffs between cost and convenience, and communication approaches associated with waste management practices.
