#  Newton Financial Trend & Benchmarking Report 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the City of Newton to analyze financial trends and benchmark the city’s fiscal performance against comparable municipalities in the Greater Boston region.

Students analyzed Newton’s financial trends and compared fiscal data with peer municipalities to evaluate the city’s revenue structure, spending patterns, and long-term fiscal position.



 

 ### Area of Focus

The team examined municipal financial indicators including revenue sources, property tax structure, spending patterns, and debt levels, comparing Newton with several comparable Massachusetts communities to identify fiscal trends and policy implications for city budgeting and financial management.
