#  Vehicle Fleet Optimization 

 



The Field Lab partnered with the City of Boston to assess efficiency and cost management within the City’s vehicle fleet.

Students evaluated fleet utilization, replacement timing, and maintenance practices to identify structural cost drivers and operational inefficiencies.



 

 ### Area of Focus

The team examined vehicle underutilization across departments, delayed replacement beyond optimal holding periods, maintenance cost structures, outsourcing policy gaps, and preventive maintenance practices.
